JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs diagnostic vascular ultrasound procedures as outlined in policies and procedures of the Cardiovascular Laboratory.
• May be cross trained into other areas of the department.
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for patients in the department and provides care to these patients through assessment, observation, and documentation.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described within. Work is primarily independent.
• Operates ultrasound equipment in the production of diagnostic images in accordance with department protocols.
• Promotes a safe environment by reporting unsafe conditions and taking appropriate action to prevent accidents.
• The technologist must be attentive to patient needs during examinations and take appropriate action if necessary.
• Independent problem solving in the performance of duties with limited supervision.
• Crossed trained into EKG and some clerical duties as well.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Sonographer program.
• One to two years of experience in Sonography, but will accept a new graduate.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) thru the ARDMS or certified as a Registered Vascular
• Specialist (RVS) thru CCI required.
• Must obtain RVT or RVS registry within 1 year from date of hire.
• BLS required.
