Job Description

Position: Experienced Shotcrete Nozzleman/Skilled Laborer

Travel: primarily PA jobs. Some regional travel possible in MD/DE

We are currently seeking a Skilled Laborer to join our Wagman Geotechnical Team. Reporting to direct field supervision, the Skilled Laborer is responsible for all project related tasks requested, including but not limited to carrying materials and heavy objects, stacking materials, properly setting up shotcrete operations including preparing the wall to shoot and finishing final product, cleaning of job site, assisting with maintenance of traffic, chipping concrete. This position works along with the entire Project Team to support the completion of assigned construction tasks and ensures all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines.

This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Qualifications:

  • ACI Certified Shotcrete Nozzeman
  • Familiar with structural welding - AWS certification preferred
  • Familiar with concrete work, demolition, chipping, pouring
  • Experience with foundation work i.e. micro piles, shotcrete, etc. preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Job duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Carry, load, or unload materials
  2. Dig with picks, shovels, air hammers, jack hammers or other construction related equipment as required
  3. Experience operating the Putzmeister TK50 and Reed B50 concrete pumps
  4. Proper installation of soil nails
  5. Arrive to project site on-time and participate in job discussions and daily safety meetings
  6. Clean up site trash and debris and place in dumpster or appropriate dedicated disposal area
  7. Lift and place lagging boards onto shoring walls
  8. Work with hoses for all types of machines on the job site
  9. Work with and maintain construction related equipment when needed (grout machines, drilling machines, compressors)
  10. Responsible for your own safety and required to wear proper jobsite PPE as directed

Physical Requirements :

  1. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift.
  2. Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
  3. Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
  4. Must be able to climb ladders.
  5. Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl.
  6. Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
  7. Position requires acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
  8. It also requires the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height—and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces.
