Job Description

Trident Consulting is seeking a "Logistics Specialist" for one of our clients. A global leader in business and technology services.

Title: Logistics Specialist

Location: 811 Paloma Drive, Suite A, Round Rock, TX 78665, USA

Pay Rate: $22/hr - $25/hour

Type: Contract

Duration: Approx. 1,800 hours (with 10% estimated additional spend)

Hours: 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday (40 hrs/week)

Position Overview

The Logistics Specialist will play a key role in maintaining proactive control of inventory within a chemical manufacturing environment . This includes receiving, storage, distribution, and inventory accuracy in compliance with Quality and Regulatory Systems and all applicable laws.

This role directly supports manufacturing operations, order fulfillment, and customer satisfaction , with opportunities to contribute to process improvement and efficiency initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy of inventory counts ; identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform receiving activities : match packing slips to POs, inspect materials, tag, store, and post inventory receipts.
  • Maintain records of inventory locations and track stock movement.
  • Manage issuance and return of inventory and consumables .
  • Segregate expired or non-conforming materials .
  • Conduct cycle counting, production reporting, and cost analysis .
  • Support safety stock levels and ensure adequate supply for uninterrupted operations.
  • Communicate with customer service and operations on shipping requirements and regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Maintain training and certifications , and adhere to cGMP , Health & Safety , and company policies.
  • Cross-train with other logistics functions and help onboard new employees.

Education:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (Math, Science, Business, or related field)

Experience:

  • Prior experience in chemical handling, materials management, or distribution preferred.
  • Experience in production or analytical areas is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong computer proficiency ; MACOLA ERP experience preferred.
  • Logistics and inventory management knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail , accuracy, and organization.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and teamwork.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Stand or walk for 75% of the day
  • Frequent bending and reaching for product retrieval
  • Steel-toed shoes required (voucher provided)

Work Environment & Safety

  • Exposure to chemicals and substances requiring PPE .
  • Standard physical exam required based on job duties.
  • No forklift, laser, or respirator use required.
  • No animal handling involved.
