Job Description

Job Title: Purchasing Clerk

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and services.
  • Verify and maintain records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, and product performance.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with departments to forecast purchasing needs.
  • Maintain purchasing files, reports, and pricing information for audit and reference purposes.
  • Review invoices and coordinate with accounting to ensure accurate and timely payment.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance and recommending improvements where needed.
  • Support compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Perform other administrative or clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory control.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing software or ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.
