About Momentum Education: 

Momentum Education is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping first-generation, low-income students access and complete post-secondary education—whether that is a four-year degree, a two-year degree, or a vocational certification.

In high school, Momentum supports students by offering weekly career webinars, monthly field trips, and on-campus SAT preparation. Each high school site has a full-time High School Advisor who teaches SAT Reading and Math and guides students through our curriculum.

After high school, students are paired with two mentors:

  1. An Academic Mentor, a full-time Momentum staff member
  2. A Career Mentor, a volunteer young professional

These mentors provide ongoing support to ensure each student thrives academically and professionally.

About the Position:

Momentum Education seeks a passionate, detail-oriented individual committed to expanding post-secondary access and success. The Operations Coordinator will provide administrative and logistical support to the Executive Director and Senior Operations Manager.

This part-time, in-person role is based at MacArthur High Schoo l (4400 Aldine Mail Rte Rd, Houston, TX 77039) and reports to the Senior Operations Manager. The position requires on-site work Monday–Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and is paid hourly at a rate of $20/hour . This position is ideal for someone interested in nonprofit operations, education, or program management who wants hands-on experience supporting a growing organization. This position is an Independent Contractor position. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create and manage email campaigns in Mailchimp for students, volunteers, and community members;
  2. Prepare and organize classroom materials and student resources;
  3. Maintain accurate data records in Salesforce and other systems;
  4. Provide logistical support for weekly career webinars;
  5. Create marketing materials such as flyers and social media posts as needed; 
  6. Research grant opportunities and assist with drafting grant applications;
  7. Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree Required
  2. Legally authorized to work in the United States
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  4. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  5. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  6. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Salesforce, Slack, Trello, and Zoom
  7. Willingness to work in-person part-time at MacArthur High School, except during school holidays, when work may be remote or at the Momentum Office at 3033 Chimney Rock Road Suite 450 Houston, TX 77056. 
  8. Access to a personal laptop and cell phone
