Maintenance Technician (Full-time / Contract)

About the Role

Houston Process and Design is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support operations at our two fabrication shop warehouses (each approx. 37,500 sq. ft.). This role is essential in keeping our facility and equipment in top condition to ensure smooth production. The ideal candidate is skilled, dependable, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all facility maintenance projects.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including welding positioners, power turning rolls, welding machines, and other shop machinery.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues (positioners, rollers, welding machines, 12–24V DC controls, etc.).
  • Perform general carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure issues are resolved promptly to minimize downtime and production disruption.
  • Carry out other facility-related maintenance tasks as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, and mechanical repair .
  • Working knowledge of facility machines, equipment, and process controls.
  • Ability to interpret technical issues with electrical and control systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be physically fit and able to work in varying temperatures (hot summers, cold winters).
