Job Description

Our client, a famous fashion brand, is seeking an Associate Technical Designer to join the team temporarily in their New York office!

Illustrator experience is a MUST for this role

Responsibilities

• Develop and update tech packs, documenting fit comments, specs and bill of materials.
• Manage flow of information related to fit process, such as tracking samples and fit approval, update tech log, sending fit list, and communicating with factory counterparts.
• Be able to evaluate fit problem on live mode, conduct fit sessions independently and translate those corrections to patterns and/or comments.
• Ensure that an accurate garment is developed that meets Design’s aesthetic.
• Communicate with factories in a timely manner through clear written comments outlining construction changes and workmanship improvements while utilizing illustrator, digital photos, and technical sketches for detailed understanding.
• Communicates verbal and written content accurately and in a timely manner with others
• Daily organization and upkeep of sample history and maintain data history

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor Degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design
• Knowledge of garment construction method and understanding of Grade principles.
• Knowledge of factory machinery specific to production area (domestic and international)
• Knowledge of structural and decorative trims.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all areas of the technical role
• Proficient in PC applications including Adobe illustrator, photoshop, MS Word, Excel, Outlook Express, understanding of sewing, draping, patterns, garment construction, spec knowledge and technical sketching.
• PLM (or similar program skills)
